Pick up your prescription
Prove what’s needed. Pick up your medicine. Get on with your day.
Picking up prescription medicine can sometimes require you to prove who you are or provide information before the pharmacy can release it. In the future, a trusted digital credential could make that easier, allowing you to securely prove the information the pharmacy needs using a credential stored in your digital wallet.
No photocopying ID. No sharing more information than necessary. Just a simple way to prove what’s required.
How it could work
- 1
Receive your credential
A trusted organisation issues you a digital credential containing verified information that can be used when collecting your prescription.
- 2
Store it in your wallet
The credential is securely stored in your digital wallet and remains under your control.
- 3
Visit the pharmacy
When collecting a prescription, the pharmacy asks you to prove the information it needs before releasing the medicine.
- 4
Share what’s needed
You review what information is being requested and choose whether to share it.
- 5
Pharmacy verifies and supplies
The pharmacy verifies that the information presented came from a trusted source. Once the pharmacy’s normal requirements have been satisfied, your medicine can be supplied.
Why it matters
Faster and easier
Spend less time finding and presenting physical identification.
More privacy
Share only the information the pharmacy needs rather than unnecessarily presenting an entire identity document.
Trusted information
The pharmacy can verify that the information presented came from a trusted source.
You’re in control
You can see what’s being requested and choose whether to share it.
Other situations this could help with
Collecting medicine for someone else
Prove your relationship or authority to collect on behalf of another person.
Accessing health services
Provide trusted information for particular health services or eligibility requirements.
Other healthcare interactions
Support a range of healthcare situations where trusted information is needed.
